Mobile PT For Athletes

Dr. David Waltman, DPT, SFMA II

ABOUT ME

I earned my Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Sacramento State University in 2016, with a special interest in orthopedic rehabilitation and sports medicine. Multiple injuries as a high school and collegiate track athlete, as well as a frustrating rehab experience, sparked my interest in the recovery process and motivated me to provide better care than what I received. Since then, I have had a passion for helping others return to their activity or sport in a fun, effective, and efficient manner.

My treatment philosophy includes a movement assessment to identify painful and/or dysfunctional movement patterns, manual therapy to decrease pain and improve joint and soft tissue function, neuromuscular re-education to activate/“wake up” certain muscles and to retrain/“rewire” efficient and effective movement patterns, and strength & conditioning to optimize tissue capacity for the demands of real life.

Frequently asked questions

Do you take insurance?

We are what is called an out-of-network provider, meaning we do not hold contracts with any specific insurance companies. Most private insurance companies will reimburse for cash visits, but this depends on your specific plan, out-of-network deductible, etc.

However, we contract with other companies if the patient prefers to stay in-network with their insurance plan.

I hold certifications in Blood Flow Restriction, Kinesiology Taping, Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM), Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA), and Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS).

I am also a travel addict, a foodie, a craft beer connoisseur, and of course, a movement/exercise enthusiast. My pursuit of health and wellness to live a long/happy life includes movement practice (yoga), strength training, mindfulness (meditation), running, and a well-balanced/healthy diet. It’s all about balance in life!
